The latest seasonal allocations for February 2022 have been announced by the Storage Manager.
Despite a series of storm events, no inflow was recorded to reservoirs during January due to catchment areas being very dry. A small improvement in the volume available for allocation resulted from rainfall on reservoirs causing evaporation loss during January to be lower than forecast.
The volume allocated to the System Reserve increased from 12,400 megalitres to 14,150 megalitres this month. Bulk entitlement rules require a total of 15,000 megalitres to be allocated to the System Reserve once Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements reach 57% allocation. Allocations for Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements remain at 57% this month, and the Glenelg River Compensation Flow entitlement remains at 1% allocation. No allocation has been possible to Recreation, Wetlands or Commonwealth Environmental entitlements.
The latest seasonal allocations for January 2022 have been announced by the Storage Manager.
As a result of very dry conditions and high evaporation losses, no inflow was recorded to reservoirs during December, and there has been no increase to the volume available for allocation this month.
The volume allocated to the System Reserve volume remains at 12,400 megalitres.

Total inflow to reservoirs during November was around 2,500 megalitres, or around 19% of average for the month. Inflow combined with lower than forecast evaporation from reservoirs during November has enabled a further 6,200 megalitres to be allocated to the System Reserve. Bulk entitlement rules require a total of 15,000 megalitres to be allocated to the System Reserve once Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements reach 57% allocation. The System Reserve volume is now 12,400 megalitres.
Allocations for Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements remain at 57% this month, and the Glenelg River Compensation Flow entitlement remains at 1% allocation. No allocation has been possible to Recreation, Wetlands or Commonwealth Environmental entitlements.
