The latest seasonal allocations for June 2024 have been announced by the Storage Manager.

Below average rainfall totals were recorded across Grampians storages during May, with monthly rainfall totals between 12.6 mm and 26.6 mm recorded. These monthly rainfall totals were well below the historic average for each storage.  Persistent dry catchment conditions limited inflow during May to 58 ML. Increasing the year-to-date inflow to 52,245 ML or 28.6% of the historic average to the same time of year (182,500 ML).

Allocation to Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements remained at 87%, the Glenelg River Compensation Flow and Wetlands entitlements remain at 49%, and the Recreation entitlement remains at 46%. No allocation has been made to the Commonwealth Environmental entitlement.

A revised system reserve rule came into effect in 2022/23, with 45,000 megalitres now in reserve. The revised rule shares the available water between entitlements and the system reserve as soon as allocations commence. Details of the new reserve rule are available from the Storage Management Rules page.
