Information Statements

When buying or selling a property your solicitor or conveyancer may apply for an Information Statement. An Information Statement will detail any rates and charges, as well as any encumbrances on the property.

Information statements are given to solicitors and conveyancers and provides:

• Details of rates and encumbrances related to the property.

• A financial statement detailing outstanding monies owed on the property.

• Any indemnity or agreement required by us with regards to the property.

• A meter reading for water use from the previous read up to the 'Valid Date' of the certificate. Solicitors are required to contact GWMWater for an update on water use closer to settlement. There is no charge for this update within 90 days of issue. Beyond 90 days will require a new application. 

Application fees and processing times

• Standard (5 business days): $72.07

• Priority (2 business days): $144.27

Once we've received your application

• Our Customer Services team will check if the property is rated and if so, contact you for payment. Payment must be received before the application can progress. 

• If no settlement date is provided on the application, the settlement date will be noted for 30 days from lodgement.

• If you would like an update on the status of your application, please wait until the day before the due date. 

Before settlement

• Advise the vendor to stop making any more payments and cancel any direct debits or recurring payments.

After settlement

• Send us a Notice of Disposition.
