Edenhope water upgrade nears completion
Edenhope’s new water treatment plant is nearing completion, marking a major step towards a more reliable and resilient drinking water supply for the town.
The new GWMWater plant will replace Edenhope’s existing Dissolved Air Flotation and Filtration (DAFF) plant, which has served the community for about 35 years.
The upgraded plant will use the same DAFF treatment process but with modern infrastructure designed to support the reliable delivery of high-quality drinking water well into the future.
Contractor CHS Group is nearing completion of construction, with commissioning of the new plant to follow.
Once the new facility is operating, the old treatment plant will be decommissioned.
The treatment plant is one part of GWMWater’s investment in strengthening Edenhope’s water supply.
Other works include a new booster pump station to improve water pressure in the town network.
GWMWater Managing Director Mark Williams said the investment would deliver long-term benefits for Edenhope.
“The new treatment plant will replace ageing infrastructure with a modern, reliable facility that will serve Edenhope for many years to come,” Mr Williams said.
“Together with the new booster pump station and other improvements to the town’s water supply network, these works will strengthen the reliability and security of Edenhope’s drinking water supply.”
