Milestone for Edenhope Water Treatment Plant upgrade
A milestone has been reached in GWMWater's Edenhope Water Treatment Plant Upgrade, with the arrival and installation of the project's new Dissolved Air Flotation and Filtration (DAFF) unit.
The DAFF unit is the centrepiece of the upgrade and will replace the plant's existing filtration system, helping to improve the reliability and quality of Edenhope's drinking water supply for years to come.
DAFF technology works by introducing tiny air bubbles into raw water, causing suspended particles to float to the surface where they can be removed before the water passes through filters. The process produces high-quality drinking water and strengthens the treatment process.
The specialised unit was transported from Horsham to Edenhope earlier this month, marking an important step forward in the project.
The water treatment plant upgrade will also include a new raw water tank and is being delivered alongside the construction of a new bore pump, which will improve the security of water supply from Edenhope's existing bore field.
Works are expected to be completed in 2027 and will help ensure a safe, reliable drinking water supply for the Edenhope community.
GWMWater will also upgrade the supply network to improve water pressure for Edenhope residents.
