Water supply

Water supplied to rural properties comes from either a rural pipeline, groundwater or surface water diversion, depending on where your property is located.

Water restrictions

Although not a legal requirement, we encourage our rural customers to follow Permanent Water Saving Rules.

Safe to drink?

No

Water directly from rural pipelines, groundwater or surface water diversion isn't treated and isn't intended for human consumption. You can still use this water for household activities, such as watering gardens, flushing toilets, irrigation and laundry. You can also use it for showering or bathing, as long as you're careful not to swallow the water.
