Current water restrictions
Water restrictions help us manage our water supply and make sure it’s used fairly across our community.
Permanent Water Saving Rules are in place across the state to reduce water waste and protect our supplies. At times, staged water restrictions may be introduced when needed, such as during drought or other environmental conditions like blue-green algae.
Permanent Water Saving Rules do not apply to recycled water, reclaimed water, greywater or rainwater collected in a storage tank.

Legality of water restrictions
GWMWater’s water restrictions are based on the Victorian Government’s four-stage approach.
