Permanent Water Saving Rules

Safe to drink?

Yes

The water is safe for drinking. It is filtered and disinfected to meet the strict guidelines for safe drinking water. It can be used for drinking, cooking, making ice, cleaning your teeth and for showering or bathing.

A fully treated drinking water supply has arrived!

We are pleased to advise Sea Lake customers that the water quality upgrades are now complete.

Sea Lake previously received water from the Murray River that was chlorinated. For the past few months the town has been receiving water that is sourced from the Grampians, treated at Warracknabeal Water Treatment Plant and then piped to Sea Lake. Sea Lake’s drinking water now meets all elements of Victorian Safe Drinking Water Regulations.

The upgrade protects Sea Lake water supply from adverse water quality events that have become more prevalent in the Murray River in recent years.

We are planning a community celebration in the coming months and you will receive an invitation once we have confirmed the details.

Charges for water supply from 1 October 2019 will be the same as other drinking water towns serviced by GWMWater. You can view our 2019/20 tariffs and other charges here.
